QMCG makes, sources and buys new clothing, sleeping bags, bedding and towels to give to British charities. We work in partnership with these charities to see what they need most and together we support the most vulnerable people in our society; the homeless, refugees, the elderly, people with disabilities, women and children in refuges, premature babies and children in hospital, and people in hospices.
the Homeless and Refugees
‘Peter, an army veteran with ten years’ service, came to SSAFA for help having lost his job and experienced periods of homelessness. We arranged retraining for him in the construction industry and were able to equip him with the right clothing for the job, particularly a good waterproof jacket, thanks to the clothing donations received from QMCG. Peter is proud to have now achieved three years of continuous employment.
The Guild has provided much assistance over many years, for all types of male and female clothing, ranging from underwear to large rainproof coats and trousers. This support, has enabled SSAFA to assist army veterans into new work routines, and fresh starts in life.’

“I just want to give my personal thanks for the amazing donations which you provided for us. The coats and thermals have been a godsend as the cold weather kicks in. We have been able to put together a rough sleeper pack which includes items such as pants, thermal vests, scarves, hats and the foil thermal blankets along with toiletries, which others have donated. The coats and thermals have been a godsend in the cold weather.”

“I could have written a letter of thanks as soon as I got back to the church… but I wanted to wait until Maureen, our clothing Store Coordinator, had seen everything I had brought back. Last year her response was “It’s the best we’ve ever had’ and this year she told me she thought it was even better than last year and really was a fantastic donation! As I removed the bags from the car I kept stopping to look at the contents…. And being amazed at what I was seeing. Please do thank everyone at the QMCG – we are all over the moon.”

“Support from organisations like QMCG makes a real difference, and knowing that there are people across the UK who are willing to create beautiful items by hand lets our residents know that they are not invisible, and that people genuinely care about their journey out of homelessness and back into independent living.”
